Diploma in Spiritual Counselling

Course Details

Would you like to guide others in their spiritual development?

Are you interested in those aspects of life that have a magical or an otherworldly element to them?

Do you feel that there is a bigger picture to life and beyond?

Are you looking for a practical and grounded way of combining the spiritual and metaphysical, with the more earthly and mainstream aspects of life?

And most importantly, do you want to move forward in your life? Do you want to help others move forward and meet their potential?

Then this course is for you.

The Diploma in Spiritual Counselling is a synergistic blend of holistic counselling, spiritual development and metaphysical practices, designed to enlighten, to explore, to heal, and delight.

  • Access to the (student only) Portal and its resources on our website

Syllabus:

This course begins with a strong emphasis on personal spiritual development. Before one can guide others on their spiritual path, they must first step onto that path themselves. With this mind, students will begin their course by completing a series of short courses that are inspired by the 7 main chakras.

The short courses take on a holistic approach by focusing on various aspects of the mind, body and spirit; with a stronger focus on the body and earthly needs and desires in the lower chakra courses, then mind and self focused units in the central chakras and culminating in units that centre around the higher self, spirituality and a conscious unity in the upper chakra levels.

"Empowering"

This course has allowed me to explore more of myself - to get to know myself and to understand myself more. The most useful tool for me was learning how to change my core beliefs.

This has been so empowering.

Where I'm at right now is that I truly believe that once we know and understand ourselves more, and we take the time and effort to do that, we can then understand others in a way that we never thought was possible.

I also realise that this journey to know more of myself is sometimes nothing to do with doing and attaining, but about letting go.

FAQ
Is this course suitable for beginners or advanced students?
Modules are presented with methods that accommodate and support all levels from beginners to intermediate and advanced. A varied structure of topics, theory and activities allow beginners to adjust at a gradual and comfortable pace whilst providing advanced students with innovative, stimulating activities, thought provoking discussion and the support and guidance to fine tune areas of previous study whilst gaining new skills.

What is the difference between the Diploma in Spiritual Counselling and the Diploma in Holistic Counselling?
The two diplomas are similar and share Modules 1, 2 and 5. They both have holistic counselling and metaphysical studies which incorporates energy healing. They both can provide healing and guidance to help the client achieve their goals.

The Diploma in Holistic Counselling allows for more in-depth counselling. It combines both basic and advanced holistic counselling along with mainstream counselling techniques and philosophies. It has a stronger and more detailed focus on mental health and healing trauma or ingrained mental patterns and behaviours. From a study and training perspective, this diploma is more intensive (with more work) than the Diploma in Spiritual Counselling. This course has a stronger counselling and healing orientated approach. The holistic counsellor asks 'What do you want to heal?' and then takes the client through a series of sessions to heal that issue.

The Diploma in Spiritual Counselling is lighter and less intensive* (with less work) than the diploma in Holistic Counselling and can be likened to holistic/spiritual life coaching. It has a stronger focus on spiritual development, holistic well-being, metaphysical activities and more lighthearted approaches to counselling and moving forward in one's life. This course has a stronger goal orientated approach. The spiritual counsellor asks 'What do you want to achieve in your life?',  and then takes the client through a series of sessions to help them achieve their goals.

Note: The Diploma in Spiritual Counselling is less intensive than the Diploma in Holistic Counselling when studied in its full duration.

What type of homework do we receive?

Chakra Short Courses - The chakra short courses contain reading material and learning activities, both theory and practical to conduct at home. But there are no assignments or homework to be submitted to the college.

Modules - The modules have assessment activities that are designed to assist you in developing the necessary skills of a healer. The majority of assigned work will be practical. Upon practising each activity, you will then type up a brief summary of the activity; your observations and the outcome and submit this to the college via email.

You will need to practise your new skills on friends or family as well as engaging in self analysis and self healing activities. Therefore whilst you are learning, you are also creating a happier, healthier life for yourself and your loved ones. By doing so, you also become a positive role model for your clients as well as developing an empathy towards the processes that you will be taking your clients through.

Note: Due to the Covid 19, we are asking those students that are in lockdown, are self isolating or limiting their social contact - for the time being - to only practise techniques on those people that they live with. Relevant activities can also be adapted so that they are conducted via Skype/phone or conducted on self instead of a volunteer.  We will be making allowances and exercising flexibility in study for the duration of social distancing.

How often do I need to submit work?
You will not have to submit any work for the short courses. Homework will begin once you commence Module 1 Holistic Counselling I.  Assessment activities will then need to be submitted monthly (at least). If you are unable to submit work for a particular month, that's fine as long as you notify the college via email prior to or during the month in question. The college will provide you with a recommended quota of activities to submit each month; however you can increase (up to 9) or decrease (down to 1) this quota to suit your lifestyle. If you submit less than the recommended monthly quota, then it is just a matter of catching up in other months.

Do I need to attend classes on campus at any time during the course?
No, the entire diploma course is delivered via correspondence. Tutorial assistance is available via email. Students will submit their work via email.

I do not live in Australia. Can I still enrol in your courses?
Yes, our correspondence courses are available to overseas students from New Zealand, Asia, Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Overseas* students may enrol in any of the certificate and diploma courses in holistic counselling, complementary therapies, spiritual counselling, colour therapy, metaphysical studies and crystal healing.

* Exclusions may apply. Please email the college if your country or region is not specifically listed above.
* Student visas are not available with this course.

Are your certificate and diploma courses available nationally in Australia?
Yes, our correspondence courses are open to students living in Australia nationwide, country and cities: Melbourne Victoria, Sydney New South Wales, Brisbane Queensland, Perth Western Australia, Adelaide South Australia, Hobart Tasmania, Darwin Northern Territory and Canberra. All certificate and diploma courses in holistic counselling, complementary therapies, spiritual counselling, colour healing, metaphysical studies and crystal healing are available to Australian students.

Are there exams?
You will complete an online open book multiple choice exam (in your home) for each short course and module plus a clinical practice exam comprising of one case study.

What is involved in the clinical practice case study exam?
The clinical practice exam requires you to take one volunteer client through weekly sessions for 7 weeks. You will have supervision and guidance via email to assist you with planning and facilitating your case study sessions. The aim of the clinical practice exam is to provide you with experience in your chosen field and to build your confidence in working as a spiritual counsellor. The case study healing sessions are conducted in your own home or at a well-being centre in your local area (if this is available to you or you are an existing practitioner).

"Inspirational"

I found the Holistic Counselling Diploma course educations, inspirational and practical.

the knowledge and tools provided are valuable for both personal and professional use.

The course itself is very well thought out and covers a lot of ground; which can be put to good use in the field.

Stephanie has a warm manner and was very approachable if I was unsure of anything. I also found her feedback really helpful.

Using the tools I have learnt from the course has provided my case study volunteer with an understanding of the root cause of his situation. He feels confident in moving forward with a clear head and with new tools to  use when he needs them.

I highly recommend this course. I have already seen the change this knowledge can bring to someone who was feeling stuck.

Can you do it? Yes, you can.
