Suffering from cravings? Do you get hungry not long after you have eaten? Then your body may be trying to communicate with you.
One school of thought suggests that frequent hunger occurs when we eat too many foods that are devoid or limited in nutritional value or there is not enough variety in our diet to supply all the nutrients your body requires.
Craving and hunger may be your body’s way of telling you that the meal you ate did not provide you with some or all of the nutrients you needed. So your body makes you hungry again, in the hope that you will feed it nutritional food.
Likewise, if we are not drinking enough water, (or feed our thirst with sugary drinks, caffeine or alcohol), our body will try a different tactic, making us feel hungry instead, in the hope that we choose foods high in water such as fruit and vegetables.
Cravings, hunger and thirst may be your body’s way of kindly asking for nutrients and hydration.
If you ignore this, then your body becomes more assertive in its communication by creating headaches, lethargy, light headedness, an inability to concentrate, moodiness, restlessness…etc.
If you ignore this as well, then your body may develop more serious medical ailments as its last resort to be heard.
