Life map - Mapping your year

The start of a year is always a good time to reflect on your Life Map. This consists of your life goals. Begin by taking a piece of paper and brainstorming all the different goals that you'd like to achieve in your life.

Brainstorming is a creative process and thus should not be stifled by practicality. Write down all your dreams whether they seem possible or not.

Once you've done that, then you can reflect on what you have written and extract those goals that are important to you. This is your life map. It allows you to see where you are heading. Your goals may be short, long term or ongoing.

The next step is to determine which path or paths you are going to take for this year. In other words, which goals are you going to strive towards? Now is the time to be practical.

Write your selected goals down and then take each one and break it up into mini goals (actions that you need to take/achieve in order to realise your main goal). Place this somewhere where you are able to see it to remind you of where you are heading and how you are going to get there. (Be mindful that you don't always have to know all the steps, just the next one).
